NAMI Electric is a new brand of high-end electric scooters delivering robust and efficient scooters, by solving the weak points of competitors in this sector. Their first scooter unveiled is the 72V Nami BURN-E, work name Viper. The BURN-E specs place it on the list of all-terrain powerhouse scooters and make it a serious contender for the king of extreme performance.

New Generation of High-End Scooters

The demand for high-performance scooters has radically increased in the last couple of years, and consequentially so has the offer. Manufacturers aimed to make faster, more agile, more powerful scooters. The community was all about comparing motor output and battery capacities, gawking at any new scooter that was faster than the others. But as mishaps started happening often, there were more and more questioning scooter safety and integrity of the design.

As a rider of an electric scooter you are fully exposed, and whatever goes wrong you come tumbling down, with only your own safety gear to protect you. Unfortunately, in a skyrocketing market, there are those that focus too much on the profit and not enough on the quality of their products. Also, many new companies do not have enough resources for thorough testing, so faults on their scooters are discovered in the field. The failures range from misaligned brake pads to infamous stem bolt breaks. Some of them are potentially life-threating.

Luckily, there are more scooters designed by people that actually ride electric scooters and know what real riders need and want. Michael Sha, the mastermind behind this scooter, used the experience from working at Kaabo and from carbon fiber products manufacturing and sales, blended with electric scooter riding practice, and turned it into a project of making a scooter that addresses all the common issues riders have, and all the shortcomings of most high performance scooters. Instead of keeping whole process top secret, Michael decided to take us along on a journey, sharing feedback and design decisions on brakes, rotors, tires, battery configurations, throttles, dampers and more on social media. And so the brand NAMI Electric was born.

What makes Nami BURN-E Unique?

Everything on this scooter is designed and engineered from scratch, battery pack, all of the electronic components, stem and folding mechanism, suspension, custom display, down to the lights configuration.

8.4 kW Motors

Two powerful brushless motors of 1500W each, with a combined peak power of 8400W give the Burn-E crazy amount of torque. The top speed is 62 miles per hour, which puts it in the elite company of top performance e-scooters, like Dualtron scooters, Kaabo Wolf King and Turbowheel Phaeton.

72V Battery

The massive 72V 35Ah battery is made of Panasonic 18650 cells, which are among the most efficient cells on the market. The maximum range is supposed to be around 93 miles, though this is in testing conditions only. In real life we expect to see somewhere close to 50 miles on a full charge.

Frame

The frame is an amazing one-piece made with all the way crossing inside 32mm diameter 3mm thick 6061 aluminum tubes, welded and heat treated for durability. The steering column is full carbon fiber.

Patented Folding System

The folding mechanism was designed to replace the old flawed clamps and other unsafe options. The solution was a patented thread lock taper folding system made of 304 stainless steel parts.

Smart Display Dashboard

The rider controls are programmable via a new central waterproof display unit with a slew of smart features. These include 5 speed modes and the ability to customize a ride mode to suit your style. The two speed controller settings are independent which allows the rider to adjust the acceleration power of the front and rear motor individually.

BURN-E is also equipped with an adaptive cruise control, meaning that cruise speed can be activated, increased or decreased by a simple thumb pressure.

Hydraulic Suspension

For driving comfort, the Viper Burn-e electric scooter is equipped with two adjustable 165mm hydraulic coil suspensions.

NUTT Hydraulic Brake Set

Burn E is equipped with Nutt hydraulic front and rear hydraulic brakes, which is a step up form Zoom brakes that Apollo scooters, Zero 10X and other have. Massive 160mm rotors, and pads with cooling fins do an awesome job at dissipating heat, while providing maximum stopping power.

Lights in All the Right Places

A powerful 2000 Lumen headlight is positioned on the upper part of the scooter, under the handlebars, for optimal lighting of the road. In addition to this there are bright side led strips and turn signals to make you be better seen.

11” Wheels

The Nami BURN E is fitted with 90 / 65-6.5 road or off road tubeless tires on demand, on 11 inches rims.

Weather-Proof

There is no official IP rating of the whole scooter, but according to tests, Nami BURN-E can be comfortably be ridden in the rain. The quick connections for all electric components, as well as the cables on the handlebar and under the deck are IP55 waterproof.

Testing, Testing, Testing

Every single NAMI scooter is road tested. Every scooter purchased is tested before shipping just as you would do it before you buy, to ensure that everything works the way it should. Besides this, all of the components, like the folding mechanism, the suspension and others have been rigorously tested in labs.

Where to buy Nami Viper?

Nami scooters will be sold all over the world. In Europe (including UK), there are several retailers for Nami scooters but they are available for pre-order only. They will also be available in Thailand, Philippines and several other Asian countries.

Nami Scooters have yet to be officially launched in the US, and they will be distributed by FluidFreeRide. We can’t wait to see what sweet deal they will come up for this amazing scooter.
