Electric scooters got seriously better in the last couple of years, and not just in terms of speed and range. From lightweight last-mile scooters, the focus have shifted to scooters that are a real vehicle, and can even replace a car. The EMOVE Cruiser is certainly one of them. After its decently successful debut, the 2021 EMOVE Cruiser is better than ever, coming with the bigger motor and numerous improvements compared to the original model.
EMOVE Cruiser Electric Scooter Review
The EMOVE Scooters are sold by Voro Motors, one of the industry’s leading distributors at the moment. This adds to the overall appeal of the EMOVE scooters, knowing that there is an excellent customer support behind it.

Speed and Power
The Cruiser only has one motor, but it is much more powerful than most single motor scooters. The motor is rated at 1000W, which is improvement compared to the last year’s model with 600W. With maximum power output of 1600W, this scooter is very powerful and can reach 15mph in just 3.4 seconds. The top speed is around 30mph, and though it does vary for rider’s weight and riding conditions, you will probably get to 25 mph on a full charge in real life. This is a great top speed for a scooter with single motor that isn’t meant to be a speed demon anyway.
Using the on-board display you can adjust everything from the top speed to the power of regenerative brakes, to cruise control and even the acceleration style.
Battery and Range
EMOVE Cruiser packs a large 52V 30Ah LG battery, safely tucked into the deck. This huge battery in combination with advanced controller and battery management system is what makes this scooter reach the supposed range of up to 62 miles on a single charge. Of course, this is the range if you ride extremely conservatively, but even with occasional maxing the throttle and some hill climbs EMOVE Cruiser is the longest range single motor scooter.
The battery takes 9-12 hours to recharge from completely drained to full charge, but if you recharge you scooter from time to time and after longer rides, you will never have to worry about reaching your destination. No more range anxiety!
Design and Frame
EMOVE Cruiser may not be a candidate for a ‘best design’ award, but every part on it is designed for functionality. Aluminum frame is lightweight but it is sturdy enough to endure any challenges of a daily commute. While it may look a bit chunky, it is pretty compact and folds down surprisingly small.
One of the main complaints about the design of the last year’s model was about square handlebar, which made attaching traditional bike accessories difficult if not impossible. Well, that has been taken care of, as the 2021 version comes with round T-bars.
Suspension
The suspension on this scooter is just the way it should be – not too springy, not too hard. In the front there is a dual spring suspension fork with coil over hydraulic and in the rear there is the air suspension system. This setup is able to take on curbs, bumps and cracks with ease.
Tires
Cruiser glides on 10 inch pneumatic tubeless tires. These do not have inner tubes, which means you don’t have to worry about flat, and any puncture can be easily repaired with slime. This is an upgrade in comparison to the previous version of Cruiser, and a great decision by Emove team, considering that changing tires is not a walk in the park.
There is a video to help you in case you need to change the tire yourself:
Brakes and Safety
Braking power of the EMOVE Cruiser is solid, it comes from moving at 15mph to full stop in under 12 feet. Braking system consists of dual semi-hydraulic brakes with 140 mm discs. These are basically cable-actuated, with a hydraulic cylinder on the disc, so they are a mix of low-maintenance and strong braking force.
Lights
On paper the EMOVE Cruiser has it all: headlight, front deck lights, turn signals and brake lights, but in reality all of these are pretty dim. The headlight is the biggest problem, as it does not light up the road at all, and we were surprised to see that 2021 model has the same, weak lights as previous ones.
However, lights are one of the easiest things to add to your scooter down the line, so it is not a deal-breaker for us.
Folding and Portability
The pin-style folding mechanism on the Emove Cruiser is very convenient, safe and folds down in seconds. Folding handlebars and height-adjusting stem also collapse quickly, so you can have your scooter folded and ready to pop it into the trunk in no time.
Weighing at 52 lbs it is not the most portable scooter ever, but it is manageable, especially considering the fact that is folds down to a pretty compact size. Folded dimensions are 49”x 10” x 14”, which means you can almost fit it under an office desk.
Weight Limit
The EMOVE Cruiser is equipped with all that is needed to support a heavy load: dual suspension, large deck, car-grade tires and a battery that can haul a lot of weight for hours. Its heavy-duty frame is able to support up to 352 pounds, and it accommodates big and tall riders thanks to the adjustable handlebar.
Additional Features
EMOVE Cruiser is equipped with lots of rider-focused features. This includes key ignition and frame designed for attaching any type of lock for added safety when you park your scooter. One of the features that is fairy rarely on electric scooters, but really comes in handy at times is a horn, and this scooter has a loud one.
For those who prefer sitting while riding, the VoroMotors provides add-on seat for the Cruiser. Thanks to the adjustable handlebar stem, you will able to position yourself comfortably, like on a real sit-down electric scooter.

Is EMOVE Cruiser Waterproof?
EMOVE Cruiser is very well equipped for wet conditions and has IPX6 Water Resistant Rating. The wires are all using waterproof cables, the deck is sealed completely and airtight, so this scooter can be ridden confidently in the rain and through the puddles compared to other electric scooters in the market.
HOWEVER, the EMOVE Cruiser is water-resistant, but not water-proof. For example, you may ride it under light drizzle or light rain, but riding under storms or heavy rain is inadvisable.
Also, have in mind that the scooter comes with this rating from the factory, and any kind of damage, breaks, cracks and tampering with your scooter will void the seal. Bottom line: electronics and water never go together, so even if you have seen that this scooter can be hosed down, always approach water with caution.
EMOVE Cruiser vs. Inokim OX Super
There are very few scooters that can compete with EMOVE Cruiser when it comes to range, and the Inokim OX does not even come close with its range of up to 45 miles. The Inokim has weight limit of 265 lbs, which is almost 90 pounds less than Cruiser. It is also about 9 lbs heavier. The Inokim OX comes with heftier price, as the 21Ah Super will set you back about $2000.
The Inokim OX wins on difficult terrain because of its impressive off-roading capabilities. Another advantage of the Inokim OX is that it is very easy to maintain. While changing a tire on the Cruiser is a potential nightmare, Inokim makes it easy thanks to its single-sided swing arm design.
EMOVE Cruiser vs. Apollo Explore
These two have a lot in common: they are both powerful single motor scooters, with great acceleration, good hill climbers, spring suspension foldable handlebars and adjustable stem. The Apollo Explore is faster compared to the Cruiser, with a real max speed of 30 miles per hour.
When it comes to features where these two differ, we generally find them better on the Cruiser. Apollo Explore features pneumatic tires, with inner tubes, which are awesome at cushioning the road, but getting a flat tire is a matter of ‘when’ not ‘if’. Explore is equipped with classic disc brakes, while Cruiser’s are hybrid hydraulic. The weight limit of the Apollo Explore is 265 lbs.
Who is the EMOVE Cruiser for?
The easy answer would be: for everyone. It is in fact a pretty well-rounded commuter scooter that has pretty much everything you need. However, here is a breakdown of pros and cons for buying this scooter:
BUY IF:
- You need a reliable scooter that you can use for commuting to work and for long weekend rides as well.
- You are heavier and/or taller than the average rider.
- You want a scooter that offers great bang for your buck.
- You want a peace of mind of being able to ride through the rain.
DON’T BUY IF:
- You need a heavy-duty off road scooter that can tackle rugged terrain.
- Your thing is riding a scooter as fast as it can go.
Why VORO Motors?

They have really put a lot of thought into the customer service aspect of their purchasing process, and they are always available to answer any question you might have about their scooters.
Another reasons to consider Voro Motors is their prices. We already said that the Emove Cruiser has so much to offer for the price, but at Voro Motors you can also find better deals on popular scooters like Wolf Warrior or Mantis than on other authorized dealers’ websites.
