Scooters like Dualtron Thunder are made for adventures and adrenaline-charged rides above all, but they are just too heavy for haul around up flights of stairs, or into the elevator. Other, lighter scooters, are just not powerful and not exciting enough. Well, seems like the latest edition by MiniMotors – Dualtron Spider, brings the best of the both worlds.

The engineers have managed to cut the weight of the scooter almost in half, putting Spider just under 44 lbs. Despite what you might think, all the modifications that made this scooter more lightweight compared to the rest of the Dualtron line-up, did not affect the top-notch performance that Dualtron are known for. You will not get this level of speed, acceleration, range or stability on any other scooter weighing below 45 lbs. Dualtron Spider has the combination of weight and power that is, at this time, without competition.

Two 800W motors with combined maximum output of 3600W will get you to speeds up to 37 mph, which is almost as fast scooter as Thunder. Spider is very agile, fun to ride and incredibly torquey. You will have to take some time to set the speed/power mode that fits your riding style, and after that, there is just nothing that can stop you.

For stopping you will have to rely on front and rear mechanical disk brakes, although they are equipped with the ABS anti-locking system. Stopping power is quite good, but they will likely need a little adjustment out of the box.

The most impressive feature of this scooter is certainly the suspension. All scooters are equipped with state-of-the-art adjustable rubber suspension that is far superior to the suspensions available on other scooters. Also, the 10” air-filled tube tires provide additional cushioning, although they are narrower compared to other Dualtron models.

There are few shortcomings, but for us, they are not a deal breaker. Handlebar is made out of carbon fiber, it feels pretty solid, but the thin foam handle bar grips feel ridiculously cheap. Sure, they are easy to replace, but it’s a little detail that is unacceptable on a scooter of this level, at this price.

Smaller than Ultra and Thunder, but bigger than Spider and Raptor, Dualtron Eagle Pro drops right in the middle of the Dualtron lineup. With dual motors of 1650W max output each, this is a fast and robust commuter scooter that can take on all challenges of moving through city traffic, whether is for running errands, doing delivery, or getting groceries.

The top speed that this scooter can reach is just above 40 mph, but if you use it as a powerful city commuter, you will probably rarely go past 25 – 30mph. Eagle Pro has bigger battery than the Spider, so naturally it has longer range. The advertised range is 50 miles, but only if you ride it very conservatively. The real life range is anywhere between 30 – 40 miles, depending on many factors.

Dualtron Eagle Pro is equipped with all the Minimotors “oldies but goldies”, like the EY3 display, patented rubber suspension, but there are also new generation features including the reworked motor and foldable handlebars. The third generation of Dualtron Thunder is the fastest, most powerful, most capable sport electric scooter so far. The long-awaited brand new design by Dualtron is finally here! Dualtron Storm is the next generation of electric scooters that proves Minimotors are not only prepared for the future, but leading the way.

Two 1500W motors, with combined peak power of 6640W, make it the most powerful scooter in the Dualtron range. The biggest innovation that Dualtrom Storm brings is the brand new motor design, with a cable that connects via pins.

The redesigned controller is now placed in the back, integrated in the foot rest, for more efficient heat control and better protection. This setup provides fantastic torque and top speed of over 50 mph.

Dualtron Storm features a 72V 31.5Ah battery, which is removable. The battery pack itself weighs about 27.5 pounds so you can bring it into the house, office or anywhere indoors to charge. This is one of the biggest batteries on an electric scooters, obviously accounting for one of the longest electric scooter ranges of 68 to 80 miles.

The Storm comes with full hydraulic Nutt brakes with 160mm discs in the front and back. These are the best stock set of brakes that comes with any electric scooter.

There are some changes in the stem as well. First, there is a built-in shock absorber in the stem, easing the impact on your hands. Also, the folding mechanism is enforced by double clamps, making it sturdier and safer at high speeds. No more shaking and wobbling. As you would expect, there is the signature Minimotors EY3 dashboard, but there is also a new additional control panel that controls the headlights, the horn, the motor mode, as well as the signal lights.

While it its foldable, it is in no way portable, and you should look at it like you would on others means of transport. The seat kit is optional, but it is worth considering, as ride can become overwhelming at times.

Dualtron X2 is one of the most expensive electric scooters, but considering that its price is in the range of 400cc scooters, while offering similar performance, and much lower cost of maintenance, it is a good deal.
